Post Post subject: British Liberals: Sample of their Hatred for Julian Assange Reply with quote

A truly disgraceful display was provoked by Assange's appeal for asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Tweets and articles below all gathered by Gabriele Zamparini.

Note that the US based writer, Glenn Greenwald, admirably confronts some of the British pundits - mainly in response to a Nick Cohen article which really caught the fancy of Assange hating British liberals.

@NickCohen4 a quibble. Assange not an "incontinent leaker," but instead a capricious gatekeeper, an archetype of Freudian info-constipation

It is absolutely not true that Julian Assange got twitter to fall over so that he could sneak out of the Ecuadorean embassy for a latte.

@saliltripathi @NickCohen4 And I love being called "paranoid" by someone who spent 2002 & 2003 publicy demanding an attack on Saddam

Nick Cohen (@NickCohen4)
24/06/2012 12:29
@ggreenwald @saliltripathi That's aggressive, not paranoid

Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald)
24/06/2012 12:30
@NickCohen4 @saliltripathi It would have been "aggressive" if you went to fight instead of sending others to die for you

@NickCohen4 Lauding yourself as "aggressive" - because you want to send others to die in war - is so incredibly revealing.

Agreed. Not sure if even you got this one on Cohen, G (probably did):
@ggreenwald you probably already saw but passing this on Even by the Guardian's ever-lower standards its remarkably bad http://goo.gl/jX1uY
GG replied: @MarkAdomanis You know about his history, right? I'd be upset if he weren't a scornful critic
