Post Post subject: To Guardian Re: UK military steps up plans for Iran attack a Reply with quote

Dear Chris,
I was disgusted to see a parade of anonymous official sources paraded as evidence for this story,
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/nov/02/uk-military-iran-attack-nuclear
as if the experience of Iraq has taught us nothing. Below are the sources quoted in the article-

a number of Whitehall and defence officials
The Guardian has been told
One senior Whitehall official said
officials now believe
Another Whitehall official
Another source added
An MoD spokesman said
Experts believe
British officials admit
said one
the New York Times reported

Let's be frank, government, civil service and military sources have demonstrated they will fabricate information to be peddled to media in order to achieve approval for policy goals, the NYT said they would stop using such anonymous formulations then reneged on that. When does the Guardian draw the line? At the next 45 minute claim?
